Nokia calling all would-be entrepreneurs

Nokia’s competition offering would-be entrepreneurs the chance to win $10,000 and business coaching from SKINS CEO Jaimie Fuller has kicked off, with the company reporting a number of impressive entries already.

Entrants are invited to submit their business idea to win the cash and mentoring prize, as well as an E7 smartphone.

According to Nokia Australia Managing Director Chris Carr, judges are hoping to see business ideas that buck a trend or are standouts.

“You may have an existing business and need a hand getting it to the next stage or perhaps have had an idea and need help getting if off the ground.  Either way, you need to put together a well-thought-through pitch and answer some fundamental questions on why you think there is a need for your product or service and how you could benefit from the money and mentoring.”

Entries can be submitted at nokia.com.au/inhindsight. Nokia will choose five finalists, who will be invited to present their idea to a panel of judges including Chris Carr, Jaimie Fuller, and Suzi Dafnis, Director of the Australian Businesswomen’s Network.

Videos of the finalists’ presentations will be posted on Nokia Australia’s Facebook page, where the public can vote for their favourite.

The overall winner will be determined by the judges and through the public voting tab on Nokia’s Facebook page

The competition closes on 14 August 2011, and was launched in conjunction with In Hindsight, an online book that looks at the achievements of seven Aussie entrepreneurs.
