Evan Williams has been named as Microsoft’s new local Small to Medium Business and Partner Group Director; a role that will see him provide comprehensive business solutions for small to midmarket business customers.
Williams will also be responsible for driving sales and marketing efforts, as well as overseeing the company’s channel strategy and supporting its 14,000-strong partner network.
Williams is Paul Voges successor, who will leave the company at the end of August to pursue new business opportunities.
“Evan comes to this role from leading the Communications Sector team, where he has been instrumental in growing our mobility business, enhancing our alliance with Telstra and building a great Hosting Partner team that’s at the leading edge of our cloud transformation journey,” Microsoft Australia Managing Director Pip Marlow said.
Williams has worked at Microsoft Australia for just under a year and holds more than 21 years’ experience in the information technology industry, including senior management positions with Dell and IBM prior to Microsoft.
“As we move into the new financial year, we will continue to bring new product offerings and cloud services to the market. Our 14,000-strong Microsoft Partner ecosystem plays a critical role in delivering solutions to our 1.1 million SMB customers to help solve their business problems,” he said.
