The Startup Daily Best in Tech Awards are back for a second year, celebrating the standout companies and individuals shaping Australia’s startup and scaleup landscape.
This year, the awards have grown, with nominations now open across 15 categories, an increase from last year’s 10. Additionally, the number of finalists in each category has expanded from three to four, doubling the total number of finalists from 30 to 60.

Startup Daily editor Simon Thomsen said the decision to expand the categories followed the phenomenal response to last year’s awards. “We launched the Best in Tech awards last year to celebrate the successes and sheer bloody hard work of people in the startup sector,” he said. The inaugural awards attracted more than 250 entries and unearthed and recognised some amazing startups. For example, Wollongong-based green hydrogen startup Hysata was named Startup of The Year. It was their first award and now Hysata has announced it has raised $172 million in a Series B, a record for clean tech in Australia.”
Five of the 10 winners of the 2023 Startup Daily Best in Tech Awards featured women or female-founded startups.
Businesses and individuals are able to nominate in multiple categories. Submissions will be judged by a panel of industry leaders and experts.

Finalists will be announced on MONDAY, JULY 15, 2024.
