Attracting and retaining staff can be a difficult task for any small business. However for Citrine Solutions Pty Ltd it was a case of simply retraining a semi-retired worker and they didn’t have to look very far to find one.
With demand growing for their services and the difficulties that come with attracting the right staff, the directors of B2B bookkeeping, IT and marketing company Citrine Solutions Pty Ltd decided to retrain their mother for the position of Bookkeeper and have found the company’s performance has improved dramatically.
Following a 17-year career as a childcare worker, health conditions prevented Gladys Alarcon Snr. from continuing the strenuous work that comes with caring for children under five. Company directors Gladys Jnr, Jorge and Willy Alarcon jumped at this opportunity and offered to retrain their mother at the young age of 54.
According to Gladys Alarcon Jnr. it was the best decision they have made as a company, as their new worker is making a considerable profit for the business.
“As an employer it gives me so much confidence that my clients are continually getting desirable results.”
