Gold Coast marketing executive Jan Timms has been appointed to two FCA franchising committees.
Ms Timms, who is national sales and marketing manager for the print franchise group Worldwide Online Printing, was appointed to the Queensland State Committee of the Franchise Council of Australia (FCA). She is also one of nine new members elected to the national FCA Women in Franchising Committee.
FCA is the peak body for the $130 billion franchise sector in Australia, representing franchisees, franchisors and service providers to the sector.
Ms Timms said she was looking forward to contributing to the ongoing successful promotion and operation of franchising on both committees.
“Queensland is a very progressive state in the area of franchising and I want to see that continue,” Ms Timms said.
The FCA’s Women in Franchising Committee aims to influence policy on key issues relating to women in franchising and to promote the success of women in franchising within the franchise sector and to the broader Australian business community.
“Women are still underrepresented in franchising but many of the women franchisees that I see are among the best performing,” Ms Timms said.
Ms Timms is on the organising committee for the 2010 National Franchise Convention being held on the Gold Coast (Surfers Paradise) on October 10-12 where she will also be an expert panellist. On November 10 she will be a keynote speaker at the next Queensland based Asia-Pacific Centre for Franchising Excellence’s National Franchise Forum to be held on the Gold Coast.
