Trish Watt, General Manager of Australian Retail for internationally renown brand Pumpkin Patch, has been nominated for the 2010 Telstra Business Women’s Awards.
A grass roots retailer, Trish has been working in the world of retail for over 30 years and currently manages a team that consists of 114 stores nationally, and over 1500 staff. Her professionalism and commitment has been recognized not only now nationally, but throughout the ranks who call her ‘boss’.
Nominated for the Business Woman of the Year award by Liz Greig, one of her many staff, is something Trish says was a complete surprise but a welcome one. “I’m committed to my team first and foremost,” she explains, leaving no question as to why she has been nominated for the award. “My first priority is to give my team the ability to share ideas in an environment that fosters success. I try to encourage a culture of providing excellence in customer service.”
In Liz’s words, “Trish is a dynamic leader. She has a brilliant retail mind and as if that’s not enough, she is also a mother of four!”
“As far as inspiring women go, I don’t know anyone who inspires more women every day. We love working for Trish and she makes her team feel valued, heard and encourages us to do things we never would have thought we were capable of. I can’t tell you how much I have learnt from Trish – she is awesome!”
