There are reports the Rudd Government will consider separating its renewable energy targets and emissions trading scheme bills after the Senate rejected the scheme, amid fears green jobs are at risk.
The Government will have to wait three months before they can resubmit the legislation to parliament, warnring green jobs will be lost as a result of the delay.
Solar Shop Australia Managing Director Adrian Ferraretto says his business will suffer and 100 jobs will be lost as a result of the delay.
Other companies operating in the renewable energy sector have also warned of job losses, reports The Australian.
The Coalition is urging the Government to consider an alternative approach to the emissions trading scheme.
