Austrade’s Landing Pads program is open for Australian scaleups again

Austrade’s Landing Pads program supported 327 Australian scaleups into global markets this financial year.

Austrade has opened its Landing Pads program calendar for FY2026/27, giving Australian tech scaleups a clear forward view of international expansion programs across five markets.

The announcement follows a strong year for the program. Over the past 12 months, Landing Pads supported 327 unique Australian scaleups through 13 programs, connecting participants with in-market experts, networks, and business opportunities across fintech, AI, medtech, and green economy sectors. Many companies secured contracts or are currently in negotiations as a direct result.

The most recent program, a four-day Climate and Sustainable Tech Immersion in Jakarta, sent seven scaleups to Indonesia to engage with industry, government, and investors around the country’s net zero transition, with access to opportunities across clean energy, sustainable supply chains, and carbon solutions.

“Australian tech scaleups are delivering innovative solutions to some of today’s most critical business, health and climate challenges,” said Scott Samson, acting Global Landing Pad Manager at Austrade. “The 2026/27 Landing Pads program will build on Austrade’s strong track record of supporting scaleups to successfully expand into global markets.”

What is coming up

Several key events are already confirmed for the coming months.

Intersekt 2026 in Melbourne on 3 and 4 September will see Austrade bring a fintech delegation from Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia, including regional government, corporate, banking, insurance, payment and innovation leaders. Australian fintech firms can meet delegates directly to discuss partnerships and opportunities.

Tech Week Singapore on 29 and 30 September will see Austrade and the Tech Council of Australia lead a Team Australia delegation focused on AI, cloud and data infrastructure, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies. The event attracted more than 29,000 attendees in 2025 and connects Australian companies with enterprise buyers, investors, and decision-makers across Southeast Asia and APAC.

Singapore FinTech Festival from 18 to 20 November, one of the world’s largest fintech events, will feature an Austrade-led Team Australia delegation in collaboration with FinTech Australia, targeting commercial partnerships and expansion opportunities across high-growth Southeast Asian markets.

Virtual export bootcamps for the UK and US markets are also scheduled for September and October 2026 respectively, with more planned through 2027.
