The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has issued a decision proposing to grant authorisation to the Recruitment & Consulting Services Association Limited (RCSA) to uphold the code for professional practises within the recruitment industry.
The code states that members must observe a high standard of ethics, probity and professional conduct in all recruitment and consulting dealings. If they fail to uphold such practises they will face expulsion, suspension and possible fines.
According to ACCC Chairman, Graeme Samuel, the amended arrangements will improve business dealings within the recruitment industry.
“The ACCC considers that the arrangements are likely to continue to provide effective market regulation, promoting equitable dealings in the employment services market and improving business efficiency.”
The ACCC has proposed to authorise the arrangement for five years.
