Fraud prevention, risk management, taxation and superannuation will be topics covered at the 2010 National Institute of Accountants NSW State Congress and Business Expo in Sydney.
Doug Niven, Senior Executive Leader of ASIC, Ron Switzer, Director or AMRA Consulting and Wayne Basford, Director BDO Australia will head up a host of high-profile speakers to discuss current and future developments in the accounting profession.
National Institute of Accountants chief executive officer, Andrew Conway, said that this Congress provides an ideal mix of topics for those working in all areas of accounting and finance.
“There will be sessions on issues arising from the Cooper and Ripoll Reviews, financial reporting and auditing matters from the corporate regulator and an update on the national consumer credit legislation.
“It is exciting to work in a profession with so much change, but that also leads to the challenge of keeping up with all the change; this Congress is the ideal opportunity to do that,” he said.
The conference will be held at the Novotel Sydney, Brighton Beach on Thursday 18 and Friday 19 November.
